The box housing is constructed of roll formed aluminum, with a sleek and compact design. Varying sizes of box housings are used depending on the overall size of the shutter.

The box housing encloses the curtain when the shutter is in the open position. On motorized shutters, the motor is located inside the box housing, which rotates an axle to coil up the shutter's curtain inside the box. DefendaGuard box housings have the most compact design in the industry due to our extensive engineering of the curtain to coil up into the smallest box possible.

DefendaGuard box housings are designed to be extremely accessible if maintenance or servicing are required. This feature does not compromise the extreme security of the shutter, due to the DefendaGuard anti-lift auto lock system. This system prevents the curtain from being forced upwards by more than one inch!

The commercial grade aluminum is environmentally friendly, with a powder coated finishing. Box housings are available in a wide range of colors including 6 standard colors and any custom color to your specification.

DefendaGuard shutters offer multiple operation methods via remote, app, or Wi-Fi. Using world-leading motor brands, our shutters operate extremely quietly and smoothly. Options are available for both single-channel and multi-channel controls. Each channel is able to operate one shutter or a group of shutters making it extremely simple and efficient to control any number of shutters.

Remotes feature 3 main buttons including up and down operation, and a stop button. The remotes allow you to operate the shutter up and down by pressing the button once, and stop the shutter curtain at any position.

The app available makes operation of the shutter extremely convenient and can be done from anywhere, even when you are not home. This allows you to secure your home from any location!

The Wi-Fi option allows you to integrate shutter operation with your smart home automation.

There are seven guide rail options for DefendaGuard rolling shutters:

  • Standard 53 mm Guide Rail
  • Standard 64 mm Guide Rail
  • Standard 66 mm Guide Rail
  • Standard 83 mm Guide Rail
  • STAX 53 mm Guide Rail (Buildout)
  • STAX 66 mm Guide Rail (Buildout)
  • AnchorLoc 83 mm Guide Rail (End-Retention)

Standard Guide Rails provide immense strength with multiple size options used based on the curtain series needed.

STAX Guide Rails (buildout) provide the same strength as Standard Guide Rails with the addition of our STAX system. The STAX system allows you to build your shutter out from the wall or whatever surface your shutter is mounted to. This is very advantageous when you shutter needs to clear an object that would obstruct the path of the shutter curtain (an example of this is a door handle the shutter must clear).

AnchorLoc Guide Rails feature our end-retention system, providing an extreme level of strength for the shutter curtain, making it near-impossible to force the curtain out of the guide rails. This system consists of anchors that are attached to the curtain at regular intervals and fastened to the guide rails to prevent the curtain from potentially being forced out of the guide rails.

There are three bottom bar options for DefendaGuard rolling shutters:

  • Standard 57 mm Bottom Bar
  • Standard 60 mm Bottom Bar
  • Heavy Duty 75 mm Bottom Bar

Each of these bottom bar options are used based on the curtain series being used and the strength required for your shutter. The bottom bars are constructed of extruded aluminum, with an attractive powder-coated finish with many color options. Multiple bottom bar locks are available to secure the shutter to the highest level.

The Standard Bottom Bar options provide a sleek, low profile design while maintaining a high level of security.

The Heavy Duty Bottom Bar is an extremely strong option used for application requiring the highest level of security.

ENTREXGUARD Rolling Shutter

 Product Overview

EntrexGuard shutters have two operation options: paddle switch or key switch. Both of these options allow you to open, close, or stop the shutter at any position.

The paddle switch is a low-profile option featuring a standard paddle switch design. This option allows you to operate the shutter either up or down by simply pressing the paddle.

The key switch offers great security by requiring a key to operate the shutter. Turning the key either direction will operate the shutter up or down; putting the key in the neutral position will stop the shutter.

There are two bottom bar options for EntrexGuard rolling shutters:

  • Heavy Duty 75 mm Bottom Bar
  • Heavy Duty 100 mm Bottom Bar

Each of these bottom bar options are used based on the curtain series being used and the strength required for your shutter. The bottom bars are constructed of extruded aluminum, with an attractive powder-coated finish with many color options. Multiple bottom bar locks are available to secure the shutter to the highest level.

The Heavy Duty Bottom Bar is an extremely strong option used for application requiring the highest level of security.

EntrexGuard closures are operated with a jackshaft motor. A jackshaft, also called a countershaft, is a common mechanical design component used to transfer or synchronize rotational force in a machine.

The jackshaft motor will rotate the axle, which brings the curtain up and coils it around the axle until it is in the open position, out of sight and above the ceiling.

The curtain of an EntrexGuard shutter is coiled up on an axle. The axle is hidden out of sight and above the ceiling, providing for a clean looking retail security closure that coils up and disappears during business hours.

Pentagon's EntrexGuard retail closures require very little space above the ceiling due to our extensive innovation of the curtain, allowing it to roll up into the smallest coil possible. This makes it mush easier to use EntrexGuard closures for both new and retrofit applications

The EntrexGuard axle is robust and heavy duty, fully up to the task of operating the large retail closures up and down for years, enduring daily wear and tear.
