All About Types of Equipment
Below is an overview of the different types & classes of Industrial Equipment Equipment World can Rent, Lease, Sell and provide Operator Training.
PERSONNEL (Aerial) LIFTS & MATERIAL LIFTS:
AERIAL WORK PLATFORMS: Access Big Jobs In Small Spaces. These compact, portable designs lift one or two workers and are convenient to set up and maneuver in tight spaces. A variety of base and platform options make these lifts easy to customize for a broad range of construction, maintenance, industrial, school, office, retail and warehouse applications, providing an economical, easy-to-transport access solution.
MATERIAL LIFTS: Lift, Position and Install With Ease. We offer a complete line of portable, self-contained material lifts that are easy for one person to transport and use for a variety of light, heavy and specialized material lifting tasks. Applications include lifting items such as HVAC, electrical and building materials as well as appliances, computers, warehouse stock, stage lighting and sound equipment.
ARTICULATING ELECTRIC BOOMS: Direct Current (DC) machines offer quiet, emission-free operation in the most sensitive work environments. For industrial applications where the machine must be driven significant distances, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine with the versatility of a diesel-powered generator.
TELESCOPIC BOOMS: Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal outreach than any other type of aerial platform — perfect for areas with limited access in construction and industrial applications. Genie telescopic S™-booms are also designed for productivity with the traction and drive speed you need to get around the job site and to the work area.
ROUGH-TERRAIN ARTICULATING BOOMS: Articulating boom lifts (knuckle booms) are used for reaching up and over machinery, equipment, and other obstacles mounted on floors, and for reaching other elevated positions not easily approached by a straight (telescopic) boom lift.
TRAILER MOUNTED BOOMS: With the operating envelope of a Z-boom — reaches up, over and out. They are easily towed behind a pickup or SUV, and also lightweight enough to use on lawns, slate or gymnasium floors.
ON-SLAB SCISSOR LIFTS: Slab scissor lifts are the industry solution for increasing worksite productivity. Ideal for maneuvering in tight spaces, they’re excellent for indoor and outdoor construction, as well as maintenance and installation applications with firm, level surfaces.
ROUGH-TERRAIN SCISSOR LIFTS: Rough-terrain scissor lifts are tough, construction-oriented four-wheel drive machines with positive traction control — ideal for increasing productivity in demanding outdoor worksites.
MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT
GAS, DIESEL & PROPANE FORKLIFTS:
ELECTRIC MOTOR HAND TRUCKS (Class III): Intended for indoor use on smooth surfaces, these jacks are capable of carrying loads up to 8,000lb and are designed for transporting palletized goods but do not have stacking capability.
ELECTRIC MOTOR WALKIE STRADDLE & COUNTERBALANCE STACKERS (Class III): These Walkie and Counterbalanced stackers are equipped with capacities ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 lbs. These Versitile and easy to use lift trucks are ideally suited for a variety of pedestrian truck applications, from manufacturing environments and retail store operations to general transportation and product distribution.
CUSHION TIRE FORKLIFTS (Class IV Cushion): Primarily used indoors on smooth surfaces. Units are propane or electric powered and capacities range from 3,000lb to 15,500lb.
PNEUMATIC TIRE FORKLIFTS (Class V Pneumatic): Can be used indoors or outdoors and are capable of working on uneven surfaces. Available fuels are gas, propane, diesel and electric. Capacities range from 3,000lb to over 51,000lb and lifting heights will vary depending on model.
Electric Forklifts (Class I): Primarily used indoors on smooth surfaces. Electric units do not give off harmful emission and, are therefore, ideal for indoor environments, working around food products or in areas with inadequate ventilation. They are available in 3-wheel and 4-wheel versions, with the 3-wheel version offering tighter turning capability. Lifting heights are available in excess of 20’ and capacities of up to 30,000lb are available. All electric units require chargers.
Electric Order Pickers (Class II): Allows for the operator to be elevated on a platform together with the forks for easy placement of less-than-pallet loads. They are designed for use in aisles as narrow as 6’ and must only be operated on smooth surfaces. All electric units require chargers.
Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Trucks (Class II): There is an assortment of forklift types that are designed to operate in narrow aisle applications. These include turret trucks, stand-up counterbalance trucks, walkie-stackers and many others. If you are operating in narrow aisles, there may be something in this section well suited to your needs.
TELEHANDLERS (Telescopic Forklift): Telehandlers offer excellent lift capacity, easily covering all your worksite needs. These telehandlers offer excellent productivity on jobsites ranging from new construction of multi-story buildings to masonry. Powerful features such as four-wheel drive and a turbocharged diesel engine provide reliable performance in the most rugged conditions.
MANUAL PALLET TRUCKS: The standard pallet truck delivers a robust 5,500 lb maximum load capacity and a true 3 inch fork lowered height ideal for most standard size pallets and skids. Lifting capacities will vary depending on product model.
CONTRACTOR / GENERAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT
MINI EXCAVATORS: Mini-Excavators provide high-performance with variable-capacity hydraulic pumping power, while saving on fuel, maintenance, wear and tear. Most Compact Excavators share similar standard features.
