We have designed our Forklift Safety Course to familiarize operators (new or experienced) on all aspects of safe lift truck operation. Our expert instructors provide classroom and hands-on training. This course is approximately 5 hours in length and includes many audio visual aids. Training can take place at your site or ours. During the course of this training, our instructors will conduct an on-site survey of your facility and provide recommendations on improving your efficiency and safety.

Purpose:

To familiarze operators (new or experienced) on all aspects of safe lift truck operation for Stand Up, Counterbalance and Rough Terrain Forklifts.

Part 1 Topics Include (in class):

• What is Material Handling 
• ITA Classifications of Equipment 
• Importance of Training
• The Operator: Attitude, Rules and Guidelines, Authorization
• Safe / Unsafe Practices
• Maneuvering Skills
• Stability Factors
• How to Approach Ramps
• Load Capacities
• Adverse Operating Conditions: Obstructed Vision, Uneven Terrain, Overhead Conditions, Blind Corners, etc.
• The Load: Landing Point Load Limits, Transporting the Load, Placing the Load, etc.
• Inspection and Maintenace, Engine, Electrical System, Hydraulics, Warning Devices, etc.
• Safe Refueling, Gas / Propane Handling
• Review of CSA, Occupational Health and Safety and Ministry of Labour Regulations
• Review Video / Question and Answer Period / Quiz
• Includes Theoretical and Practical Training, Workbook and Record of Training (ROT) 

Part 2: Topics Include (on site):

• Pre-operational Inspection
• Operation of Equipment: Loading / Unloading, Narrow Aisles, Blind Corners, Proper Shutdown Procedures
• Operator Evaluation (Driving Test)

An on-site survey with recommendations will also be conducted to improve your overall workplace safety and efficiency.
